A nice cup of coffee to help the words flow
Life is a journey. It is a road that must be taken from beginning to end, but doesn't have to be taken alone.
The path will take many twists and turns along the way - some good, some not so. It is how we overcome the bad steps, that show how we enjoy the good ones.
We all start our journey with dreams we wish to fulfill along the way, but very few of us manage to reach the peaks of our goals.

My writing journey
Having grown up during a time before reading had been overtaken by multi-tv channels and computer games, the worlds and people i traveled to and experienced were made stronger by an active imagination.
During that childhood, writing became a dream that i thought would never be fulfilled. Various setbacks and challenges left my life directionless but through the first steps of adulthood, i set out to attempt to write. Beginning with poems written for girlfriends and unrequited loves i moved on to short stories and the occasional abandoned novel efforts. But my biggest enemies had been the lack of confidence in my ability and no determination to succeed.
With the beginnings of a family and two amazing children, any writing aspirations were put on hold. After all it had only been a dream - and who ever lives them?
Then, one day the dream revived. With well-needed encouragement, the goal of actually completing a full length novel became visible and nearly two years later achieved. with my a for mentioned enemies still snapping at my heals, i sent my requisite three chapters off to an agent. Just over a month later, the expected rejection - although positive - arrived.
Oh well, at least i had actually achieved the goal of competing it, my lack of confidence ensuring it didn't get sent to anyone else.
Deciding to put that novel away as experience, i started working on my next. That went well until the last two chapters. A point when actually finishing it became a reality that would mean another rejection. It still remains unfinished.
But that is not the end.
With a new found energy, i took out that first novel and began to reread it. Then with encouragement from unexpected sources - a girl on a bus, a confidence tutor - i began to edit and rewrite it.
The more i worked on it, the more belief i had in the story and my ability to tell it. Which in turn led to even more encouragement.
That brings us up to the present. A point where the dream stands on a knife edge and the future awaits the outcome ...
My journey continues in my blog.
